AT&T lifts profit outlook as bundled services boost subscriber growth
AT&T raised its annual adjusted earnings forecast after a strong quarter, citing growth in bundled internet and wireless plans.
AT&T announced that its third-quarter results beat expectations, with revenue climbing 5.3% to $32.3 billion and adjusted profit per share reaching 65 cents, above the 60-cent consensus. The company added 379,000 net paying wireless subscribers, essentially matching FactSet’s estimate of 379,300. Leveraging its bundled internet-wireless packages, which attract about 43% of new broadband customers to also adopt wireless plans, AT&T lifted its full-year adjusted earnings guidance to roughly $2.40 per share, up from the prior $2.25-$2.35 range.
The outlook reflects ongoing investments in fiber, highlighted by a more-than-$3 billion multi-year supply agreement with Corning and the $5.75 billion purchase of Lumen’s fiber business in May 2025. Those moves drove record broadband growth, with 442,000 new fiber internet users and 327,000 fixed-wireless subscribers added in the quarter. Strong sales of wireless services, equipment, and post-paid revenue from Latin America also contributed to the upbeat performance.
Why it matters
The raised profit forecast signals AT&T's successful shift toward bundled services and fiber expansion, shaping competition in the U.S. telecom market.
