Atlanta Falcons logo sparks Nazi symbolism backlash on social media
The Falcons unveiled a new logo that many fans likened to Nazi imagery, prompting a wave of online criticism and memes.
The Atlanta Falcons shared a fresh logo—a black falcon against red, white, black and gold stripes—on X, which quickly drew comparisons to Nazi Germany’s eagle emblem. Social media users posted satirical comments, created memes swapping the Nazi flag for the Falcons’ design, and even placed Adolf Hitler in a Falcons hat. In response, the team switched its profile picture to a red helmet with a falcon logo before Sunday’s matchup.
The Falcons currently hold a 2-4 record, tied for second in the NFC South behind the Panthers, and will face the undefeated 49ers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Recent roster moves include signing quarterback Andy Dalton after his release from the Eagles and releasing Cooper Rush, leaving Dalton alongside Michael Penix Jr., Tua Tagovailoa and Jack Strand in the quarterback group.
