Atlanta fraudster sentenced to over 16 years for Amazon scheme

Brittany Hudson was sentenced to 16 years and three months in federal prison without parole for a scheme that defrauded Amazon of nearly $10 million. Convicted on 30 felony charges in March, she and partner Kayricka Wortham used fabricated vendor accounts and over a thousand false invoices to siphon roughly $9.4 million between January and June 2022. The money bought a nearly $1 million home in Smyrna and a collection of luxury cars and a motorcycle.

After their initial indictment in September 2022, both remained free on bond but tried to swindle a franchising company by forging a federal judge’s signature, prompting the court to cancel their release. In addition to the prison term, Hudson must repay $9,469,731.45 to Amazon, forfeit $7,859,135.54, and surrender her Smyrna residence and seized bank funds. Wortham received a similar sentence and forfeiture order in earlier proceedings.
