Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, the attorney for a 28-year-old man shot by ICE officers in Austin, became the focus of online outrage after a screenshot of a deleted post surfaced. In the post, she asked, "How do you resist getting shot in the neck? Does Charlie Kirk have any advice on that?"
Critics on X accused her of mocking the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk and questioned her suitability to represent the victim. Prominent conservatives, including Rep. Nancy Mace, labeled her remarks as "sickening" and "patriotic scum." Lincoln-Goldfinch responded, stating the post was removed because it could be misconstrued and that the issue was handled within her firm.
The shooting of the man, identified as Wilber Garces Perez, prompted citywide protests, arrests, and injuries among police officers. The Department of Homeland Security reiterated its commitment to enforcing immigration laws and dismissed claims that its narrative was false.
