Auckland rail tunnel closure forces multiple train line cancellations ahead of rush hour
Auckland's City Rail Link tunnel is closed, causing cancellations on the East West, South City and Onehunga West lines for the morning commute.
Infrastructure problems have shut the City Rail Link tunnel, disrupting service on three major lines. The East West line will run nonstop between Kingsland and Ōrākei, skipping Karanga-a-Hape, Te Waihorotiu and Waitematā. The South City line will operate only between Pukekohe and Waitematā via Parnell, omitting Grafton, Karanga-a-Hape and Te Waihorotiu. Passengers are advised to check live departure boards, and buses will honor train tickets.
