Audacy launches 95.7 The Fan in Houston, swapping SportsRadio 610 for FM

Audacy rebranded its longtime Houston sports talk station, moving SportsRadio 610 to the FM band as 95.7 The Fan, timed with the Texans' 25th season kickoff.

Audacy announced the transformation of its Houston sports talk heritage, converting the 32-year-old SportsRadio 610 into 95.7 The Fan on the FM dial as the Texans begin their 25th season. Brand manager Parker Hillis, who has led the effort since 2022, highlighted the partnership with the Houston Texans as a perfect launch moment. The station becomes Audacy's 23rd FM sports talk property and the 13th to carry the nationally recognized "The Fan" brand, originally from WFAN in New York.

While the FM signal replaces the former music station 95.7 The Spot, the AM frequency will stay on air to serve listeners who favor the legacy channel. Focus-group feedback showed about ten percent still prefer AM, prompting a dual-frequency strategy. Hillis also oversaw a new logo featuring light blue and tile motifs that reference Houston's identity.

Why it matters

The shift expands FM sports talk coverage in Houston, offering listeners better audio quality and a stronger brand presence.
