Audi driver sentenced to over ten years for deadly hit-and-run while using nitrous oxide

A 27-year-old Audi driver who was traveling at 53 mph in a 20 mph zone and inhaling nitrous oxide was jailed for ten years and nine months after fatally striking cyclist Harry Webb in Hackney.

In September 2023, Tiffany Treanor-Johnson, 27, was driving an Audi at 53 mph in a 20 mph zone in Hackney while inhaling nitrous oxide. She struck cyclist Harry Webb, a London College of Contemporary Music student, causing a head injury that proved fatal after several days in hospital. After the collision she left the scene, but a nearby driver intervened, retrieved her car keys and the police later arrested her.

At Snaresbrook Crown Court Judge Rosa Dean sentenced her to ten years and nine months in prison and a ten-year driving disqualification. Webb’s parents and friends gave emotional impact statements, urging tougher penalties for road crimes. A memorial ghost bike now marks the crash site.
