Audi revives A2 name with new electric hatch priced from £32,200
Audi has reintroduced the A2 as an all-electric hatchback, starting at £32,200 in the UK and offering up to 401 miles of range.
Audi announced the return of the A2 nameplate as a fully electric compact hatch, priced from £32,200 in Britain and capable of up to 401 miles on a single charge. Orders open in October with the first vehicles expected at Audi Centres in early 2027. Buyers can choose from 52-kWh, 61-kWh or 84-kWh packs, delivering 168 bhp to 322 bhp and rear-wheel drive, with claimed ranges from 262 to 401 miles.
The model targets the UK Electric Car Grant, potentially reducing the price to roughly £30,700 after a £1,500 subsidy, pending government approval. Efficiency is a focus, with a consumption of 12.8 kWh per 62 miles and a drag coefficient of 0.24, aided by aerodynamic design and hidden door handles that retain power via separate energy stores. Built at the Ingolstadt factory using existing equipment, the A2 e-tron also offers vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home power-sharing capabilities.
