Australia bolsters ODI bowling line-up with Cummins, Starc and debutant Edwards
Australia added Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and debutant Jack Edwards to its ODI squad for the South Africa series, while Billy Stanlake and Spencer Johnson returned home after the Zimbabwe leg.
Cricket Australia confirmed that its one-day international squad for the upcoming three-match series in South Africa has been reinforced by the inclusion of captain Pat Cummins and left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc, both of whom missed the recent 3-0 win in Zimbabwe. The side also welcomes 26-year-old all-rounder Jack Edwards, who left the Australia A tour of India and is poised for his ODI debut. Fast bowlers Billy Stanlake and Spencer Johnson are returning to Australia; Stanlake suffered a side strain and will undergo scans, while Johnson was considered surplus after playing two games in Harare.
The changes come as Cameron Green continues to recover from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the Zimbabwe fixtures. The series kicks off in Durban on Thursday.
