Australian Tourist Deported and Banned Ten Years After Bali Indecent-Conduct Incident
An Australian man identified as BA was expelled from Indonesia and barred from re-entering for a decade after authorities said he performed an indecent act at a private residence in North Kuta, Bali.
Indonesian immigration authorities arrested a 28-year-old Australian, known only as BA, at Bali’s main airport after his identity triggered an alert in the SIMKIM database. CCTV from a North Kuta home captured him allegedly engaging in sexual conduct in the property’s yard on the evening of August 21, prompting a police visit and identification. Badung Police investigated, concluded the act violated local norms, and advised deportation.
BA was escorted to the Badung Police station, then transferred to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, which ordered his removal to Brisbane and imposed a ten-year ban on future entry. Ngurah Rai Immigration Office chief Novyandri said the measure is intended to maintain public order and will be reinforced with tighter immigration oversight. The case underscores Indonesia’s strict stance on foreign nationals breaching local decency laws.
