Authorities detain alleged mobster Costi Litrașu for witness intimidation in Chiajna case
Constantin Raiciu, known as Costi Litrașu, was taken into custody after prosecutors said he tried to pressure a witness linked to the Chiajna murder investigation.
Constantin Raiciu, popularly called Costi Litrașu, has been re-apprehended by investigators who allege he sought to coerce a key witness in the Chiajna murder probe. The witness, who had previously testified about the July 2020 ambush that gravely wounded Liviu Iordan and Călin Pană, was reportedly confronted at the Chitila police headquarters by Litrașu and his cousin Sorin Raiciu, who threatened to influence his statements.
Following the confrontation, the two men were taken into custody for a 24-hour period, and a provisional protection order was granted to the witness for five days. The prosecutor handling the case declined to request preventive detention for the cousins. This arrest adds to Litrașu’s history of repeated detentions for alleged extortion and violent assaults in the Chiajna area.
