Authorities order fresh probe into death of five-year-old girl in Hisingen
A new external investigation has been commissioned into the fatal fire that killed a five-year-old girl, after earlier inquiries found no legal breaches by social services.
The tragic death of a five-year-old girl, who was left alone at night on several occasions and later perished in a house fire, is being re-examined by an independent investigator. Earlier reviews under lex Sarah concluded that the municipal social services had not violated any statutes. Nevertheless, Marie Larsson, the administrative director of Hisingen's social administration, said procedural changes might still be needed. The child's mother has been sentenced to six years for aggravated manslaughter and 42 counts of illegal deprivation of liberty.
