Authors amend duplicated image in cGAS-nucleosome study without altering conclusions
The researchers disclosed that an image in Extended Data Fig. 1d was duplicated due to a preparation mistake and have replaced it with the correct panel, stating the correction does not change the paper’s findings.
The authors of the study on the structural mechanism of cGAS inhibition by the nucleosome reported an error in Extended Data Fig. 1d, where a duplicated image was inadvertently included during figure preparation. The mistake involved the cGAS staining image for the DMSO control, which has now been replaced with a correct representative picture. This panel serves as the specificity control for antibodies used in PLA assessments of cells treated with or without Aclarubicin.
The correction has been applied to the online HTML and PDF versions of the paper. The authors emphasized that the amendment does not modify any of the manuscript’s conclusions. The correction notice appears in Nature’s 2026 record of the article.
