Authors issue correction for cell immunity study figure and data
A correction has been published for the 2026 Nature paper on cGAMP transfer, fixing duplicated image panels and an incorrect time point in Extended Data Fig. 6.
A post-publication review of the 2026 Nature article on intercellular cGAMP transfer revealed that the third and fourth panels of the second row in Extended Data Fig. 6a contained overlapping regions, and the second panel displayed an incorrect time point for the CMA control condition. The authors have corrected these errors by supplying the accurate image panels and have recomputed the quantification shown in Extended Data Fig. 6b, confirming that the study’s conclusions are unaffected.
Due to the age of the original paper, the corrected figure cannot be inserted directly into the article; instead, it is available as supplementary information linked to the correction notice. The amendment includes a DOI link to the updated record and cites the original authors Ablasser, Schmid-Burgk, Hemmerling and colleagues.
Why it matters
Ensuring accurate figures maintains scientific integrity and prevents misinterpretation of research findings.
