Authors issue correction for duplicated images in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia study

The authors of a recent Nature paper on acute lymphoblastic leukaemia have corrected duplicated image panels in Fig. 4d and Extended Data Fig. 6e, providing the original data and updated supplementary files.

The research team behind the Nature article titled “Signalling thresholds and negative B-cell selection in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia” was alerted to an image duplication involving Fig. 4d, which mistakenly repeated a panel from a 2015 study by the same group. Although the bioluminescence images originated from separate experiments conducted between July and October 2012, the duplicated panel has been replaced with the appropriate original data, and the updated figure is now part of the supplementary material.

A similar issue was found in the “Inpp5dfl/fl Day 6” panel of Extended Data Fig. 6e; the corrected version and its time-stamped source files have also been posted. The β-actin western-blot control shown in Extended Data Fig. 6a matches that in a 2016 publication because both panels stem from the same patient samples, and the authors have supplied the uncropped blot images for transparency. All revisions, including the amended figures and supporting data, are accessible through the amendment’s online supplementary information.

Correcting image errors preserves scientific integrity and ensures reliable data for future leukaemia research.
