Autumn winds and rain sweep Switzerland as temperatures dip
MeteoSwiss warns that strong Joran winds and rain will bring cooler, wetter conditions to Switzerland from mid-week onward.
MeteoSwiss indicates that after a brief spell of morning fog, clouds will quickly move in and rain will arrive from the west, covering all regions by evening. Thursday is forecast to be the most overcast day, with the Joran wind gusting strongly and the snow line potentially dropping below 2,000 m. Plains will see highs near 17 °C, but by Friday temperatures will not exceed 15 °C, despite some sunny intervals near the Lake Geneva basin and in Valais. The weekend is expected to maintain similar cool and wet conditions, completing an eight-day outlook for the whole country.
