Avatr unveils Concept T09 SUV ahead of Paris motor show debut

Avatr displayed its Concept T09, a three-row, six-seat flagship SUV, at a preview event in Paris as it prepares to enter the European market.

Avatr introduced the Concept T09 at a media preview in Paris, positioning it as the brand's flagship SUV for global markets. The three-row, six-seat vehicle was first noted in Chinese MIIT certification documents, which detail two extended-range electric configurations: a 1.5-litre turbo engine with 105 kW and rear-focused electric motors, and a 2.0-litre turbo engine with 150 kW and dual rear motors, both supported by a 71.24 kWh ternary lithium battery from CATL.

Exterior options listed in the filings range from silver to dark-chrome grilles, multiple alloy wheel designs, two-tone paint, and the possibility of a LiDAR sensor and panoramic roof. Renderings of the cabin highlight a roomy, lounge-style interior intended to make every passenger feel included, according to chief design officer Nader Faghihzadeh. The production version is expected to reach export markets no earlier than 2028, with Australia slated as one of the first non-Chinese destinations. Avatr plans to roll out its European operations starting in Spain and Norway early next year.

Why it matters

The T09 marks Avatr's first major push into Europe, signaling growing competition from Chinese premium SUVs.
