Ayuso attacks Sánchez and unveils 100 regional initiatives in Madrid debate

Isabel Díaz Ayuso opened the Madrid regional state of affairs debate by denouncing the central government and announcing a slate of 100 measures for the community.

In the first segment of the regional state of affairs debate, Isabel Díaz Ayuso launched a broad attack on the national government, accusing it of abandoning Ceuta and being passive toward Morocco. She then presented a list of 100 proposals, including metro extensions, reconstruction after recent wildfires in the Sierra Oeste, and new affordable-housing schemes. While opposition members demanded transparency over a disputed luxury apartment acquisition, Ayuso mentioned the matter only in passing, noting that public-property sales had saved money in previous years.

Additional initiatives cover unified ticket pricing, further tax reductions, expanded maternity assistance and support for bullfighting as cultural heritage. The debate also featured a retort to Pedro Sánchez’s comments toward Santiago Abascal, underscoring the political rivalry between the regional and central governments.
