Badlands Acquires ‘Wildman’ Script, a Bigfoot-Driven Action Horror

Badlands, the genre banner operated by Scott Strauss and affiliated with Thunder Road’s John Wick producers, has acquired the horror spec ‘Wildman’ from emerging writer Jacob Reiner. The screenplay centers on a Bigfoot who, after his younger brother is killed by hunters, launches a violent campaign to retrieve the body and punish those responsible. Reiner, a Texas native and Bigfoot enthusiast, submitted the script to Scriptshadow.com’s Blood and Ink contest, where founder Carson Reeves highlighted it.

Manager Jake Wagner of Alibi Entertainment then pursued the writer, resulting in Reiner’s first screenwriting deal, with Reeves slated to executive-produce. Badlands, backed by Renegade Capital, is also preparing releases such as ‘Crawlers’ and other horror projects in development.
