Bahrain's foreign minister arrives in Pakistan for two-day joint commission talks
Bahrain’s foreign minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani landed in Pakistan on a two-day visit to co-chair the third session of the Joint Ministerial Commission.
Bahrain’s foreign minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani is set to spend two days in Pakistan, beginning Wednesday, to co-chair the third session of the Joint Ministerial Commission. The trip, arranged at the request of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, will cover a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, from trade and investment to defence, security, labour, and cultural links. Both delegations will exchange views on regional and global developments and seek cooperation in multilateral forums.
The agenda follows a recent inter-ministerial meeting led by Dar to finalise preparations and aims for concrete outcomes. Al Zayani and Dar previously met at the UN General Assembly in September, where they discussed the upcoming commission and praised Pakistan’s role in regional stability. The latest session follows a 2021 meeting in Manama that produced a memorandum of understanding to boost business ties.
Why it matters
The talks could deepen Pakistan-Bahrain cooperation across trade, security and cultural sectors, influencing regional partnerships.
