Bajaj Finance posts 28.7% profit jump to ₹6,367 crore in Q2

Bajaj Finance reported a 28.7% year-on-year increase in quarterly profit, reaching ₹6,367 crore, driven by strong loan growth.

Bajaj Finance announced a 28.7% rise in quarterly profit after tax, reaching ₹6,367 crore for the September quarter, compared with ₹4,948 crore a year prior. The surge reflects robust demand for consumer financing, continued borrowing by small businesses, and heightened interest in gold and housing loans. Assets under management increased 26% year-on-year, the quickest growth since the March 2025 quarter, with gold loans doubling and rural consumer finance jumping 63%.

Loans to small and medium enterprises grew modestly by 3% after tighter underwriting. Net interest income rose 24% to ₹13,335 crore, and the gross non-performing asset ratio fell to 1.06% from 1.24% a year earlier, though it slipped sequentially.

Why it matters

The earnings surge highlights strong consumer credit demand and improved asset quality at a major Indian non-bank lender.
