Baldoví says Compromís will only join a Valencian-led electoral platform
Joan Baldoví announced that Compromís will only participate in the upcoming election if the Valencian brand is featured and refused to attend Frente Amplio’s preparatory meetings.
Following Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s announcement of an early election, Joan Baldoví, the Compromís spokesperson in the Corts Valencianes, outlined the conditions for the party’s involvement in a broader left-wing front. He stated that Compromís will only join a coalition if the Valencian brand appears prominently on the ballot, echoing the Compromís-Sumar label used in the last general election. Baldoví categorically refused to attend the meetings organized by Frente Amplio to draft a joint electoral program, emphasizing that the party intends to construct its own platform from within the Valencian region.
He argued that a Valencian-driven brand can still accommodate other progressive forces while preserving regional identity. Baldoví also noted public demand for bold measures in Congress and criticized the governing right-wing parties for blocking such initiatives. The party aims to push for constitutional recognition of housing as a right.
