Ballon d'Or 2026 ceremony set for London with new award categories

The 70th Ballon d'Or awards will be presented in London, featuring the usual player honors and additional trophies throughout the evening.

The annual Ballon d'Or awards return for their 70th edition, organized by France Football and staged at the London Palladium Theatre. The ceremony, aired on the L'Equipe channel, will be led by presenters Célien Milioni-Brunet and Valentin Baudry, who will guide the audience through a series of individual and team recognitions. An international panel of journalists from the 100 highest-ranked FIFA nations will vote on the men's prize, while the women's prize will be decided by a smaller but similarly qualified group. The previous season saw French forward Ousmane Dembélé and Spanish midfielder Aitana Bonmati claim the top honors, and the 2026 awards could see fresh names added to the roll of laureates.
