Balochistan Liberation Army says attacks killed 25 Pakistani soldiers and destroyed vehicles

The Balochistan Liberation Army claimed two assaults in Balochistan that resulted in 25 Pakistani military personnel killed and three vehicles destroyed.

The Balochistan Liberation Army announced responsibility for two separate attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. In the first incident at Ziarat Cross, militants targeted a military convoy, destroying two vehicles and killing 25 soldiers, according to the group’s spokesperson. A one-minute-and-eleven-second video posted on the BLA’s official Hakkal channel depicts armed fighters near burning military trucks and bodies at the scene.

In a second operation in the Hajika area of Surab, the BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad remotely detonated an explosives-laden vehicle, destroying another military vehicle and killing seven personnel. The group said it would later release the full footage of the Ziarat Cross attack.

Why it matters

The attacks highlight ongoing insurgent violence in Balochistan, threatening regional stability and Pakistan's security forces.
