Bank manager arrested after assaulting delivery worker over a few minutes' delay

A UCO Bank branch manager was taken into custody after video showed him beating a part-time delivery rider in Meerut over a short delivery delay.

In Meerut’s Ganga Heights society, a delivery executive named Amit Yadav was assaulted by Yaman Kansal, a 34-year-old branch manager at UCO Bank, after a brief argument over a five-minute delivery delay. CCTV footage released by residents shows Kansal taking Yadav’s phone, physically attacking him, and continuing the assault inside his apartment, while a woman appeared to encourage the intrusion. The victim, a student working part-time, reported the assault to Bhawanpur police, leading to an FIR under sections for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, and Kansal’s subsequent arrest.

Security supervisor Deepak Sharma described Yadav leaving the complex in tears before returning with his father, and society president Arvind Mittal said the family would not be allowed to stay. Police indicated a report would be sent to UCO Bank and tenant verification would be reviewed. Delivery workers have threatened to suspend services until Kansal publicly apologizes.
