Bank of America Vice President Killed in Random Times Square Stabbing, Funeral Draws Hundreds

Erin Guiltinan Piacenti, 32, a vice president at Bank of America who had just resumed work after maternity leave, was stabbed to death in a random assault on Seventh Avenue in Times Square on Aug. 31. Police identified the attacker as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros of Queens, who had a documented history of mental illness and also wounded a 68-year-old man before being shot dead after refusing to surrender her knives. The incident prompted road closures and a city-wide response, with Mayor Zohran Mamdani thanking officers and promising body-camera release.

Piacenti, a University of Pennsylvania and Fordham Law graduate, was survived by husband Frank Piacenti and infant daughter Madison; a GoFundMe campaign has raised close to $1 million for the child. Hundreds gathered for a wake and a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mendham Borough, New Jersey, where the community honored her life.
