Barcelona transfers La Masia midfielder Tommy Marqués to Sporting Braga for €11 million

FC Barcelona confirmed the sale of 19-year-old academy midfielder Tommy Marqués to Sporting Braga for a fixed €11 million fee plus add-ons.

FC Barcelona announced that academy product Tommy Marqués, 19, is leaving the club for Sporting Braga after a decade in La Masia. The transfer fee is set at €11 million with an additional €1 million in performance-related add-ons. Barcelona will keep 20 % of any future transfer revenue and a buy-back clause valued at €60 million.

Marqués signed a deal with Braga that runs until 2030 and includes a €60 million release clause. Seeking more regular minutes after limited opportunities under Hansi Flick, he will join coach Carlos Vicens’s project in Portugal, wearing the No. 16 jersey alongside fellow former Barça youth player Pau Víctor.

Why it matters

The deal shows Barcelona’s strategy of monetising academy talent while preserving future financial rights.
