Barclays to launch three new UK branches and extend opening hours

Barclays revealed a plan to strengthen its community presence by opening new branches in Poole and Bishops Stortford this September, followed by a Beverley location in November. These outlets will feature smart ATMs, self-service technology and dedicated meeting spaces for customers needing specialist advice on major financial decisions. The rollout coincides with the continued deployment of Premier Suites and an overall extension of branch opening hours, adding more than 60,000 additional service hours annually.

Vim Maru, chief executive of Barclays UK, said the initiative reflects customer demand for both digital convenience and personal guidance. The bank emphasised that while everyday transactions are increasingly digital, many life-changing financial choices still benefit from in-person support. The new branches aim to provide a hybrid banking experience that offers flexibility, choice and confidence to customers.
