Barry Manilow Returns to Westgate Las Vegas Stage After Cancer Recovery Break

Barry Manilow resumed his Las Vegas residency at the Westgate after a six-week pause for lung-cancer treatment.

Barry Manilow took the stage at the International Theater in the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino on Thursday, ending a six-one outlet break taken to recover from lung cancer. The 83-year-old performer, who has been in residence at the Westgate since the start of the year, addressed the crowd, expressing excitement and humor as fans tossed underwear onto the stage. He reiterated his intention to perform again on Friday and maintain the residency schedule through the year's end.

Manilow announced his lung-cancer diagnosis in December 2025 after an MRI revealed a spot in his left lung, prompting him to reschedule upcoming shows. Prior to the hiatus, he completed 29 performances in 68 days and used social media to keep fans informed of his health and return plans.

Why it matters

Manilow's return shows resilience after serious illness and keeps a popular Las Vegas entertainment act on schedule.
