Basarnas mobilises around 30 volunteer ambulances for ship disaster at Trisakti Port

When the passenger vessel Virgo Transport 8 disappeared in the Java Sea, Basarnas directed volunteer groups to bring about 30 ambulances to Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin. The ambulances, supplied with oxygen tanks, stretchers, latex gloves and masks, are prepared to deliver urgent treatment and ferry the injured to hospitals. Government ambulances joined the effort, creating a combined fleet ready for rapid evacuation.

Volunteer coordinator Gapuri of BPK Gamer Yuka Banjarmasin reported that casualties include both fatalities and injured persons, prompting the pre-emptive medical readiness. Rescue teams have already evacuated 103 of the 243 passengers aboard, using vessels TB Mauhaw IX, TB TCP and MV Haida. The coordinated medical response aims to ensure that any survivors receive prompt care upon reaching shore.
