Bayern coach says Musiala back in full training but will miss season opener

Jamal Musiala suffered two on-field collapses during August preseason matches, first against RB Leipzig on Aug. 15 and again three days later versus Heidenheim, later identified as absence seizures linked to a neurological issue. Bayern Munich coach Vincent Komany announced that a recent change in Musiala's medication has enabled him to join the full training session on Thursday and that he appears to be adapting well.

Despite this progress, the club confirmed he will not feature in the upcoming Bundesliga opener against Stuttgart as they begin their title defence. Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sport, said the club had been aware of the condition since the previous season and that the medication adjustment caused the incidents, with the goal now to return him to a long-term seizure-free state. The medical team will continue to monitor his recovery before determining when he can play again.
