Bayern Munich official faces neighbor lawsuit over two disputed trees

Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß is being sued by a neighbour who says two trees on his Bad Wiessee property were planted where planting is forbidden.

Uli Hoeneß, a member of Bayern Munich's supervisory board and the club's honorary president, has been taken to court by a neighbour over two trees allegedly placed on his Bad Wiessee property in a zone where planting is prohibited. The neighbour claims the trees breach a local restriction, while Hoeneß maintains the location falls outside the prohibited area. The matter is set for a hearing next Thursday before the Munich II Regional Court, which will determine the legal validity of the neighbour's claim.

Hoeneß has declined to provide comment before the case proceeds. This lawsuit contrasts sharply with the high-profile issues Hoeneß typically handles for the football club. The outcome will hinge on the interpretation of local planting regulations.

Why it matters

It shows how even high-profile sports figures can be drawn into ordinary local legal disputes.
