Coach Billy Miller praised the defense, which generated six takeaways—four fumbles and two interceptions of Marcus Pates. Junior linebacker Tyler Camby contributed an interception and a fumble recovery, while senior Elijah Randall sealed the win with a strip sack late in the game.

In other opening contests, Calvary Chapel routed Cornerstone Academy 32-6, Melbourne overwhelmed Cocoa 47-16, and teams like Heritage, Viera, Cardinal Gibbons and Cypress Bay also recorded victories.
