BCCI schedules September AGM to consider associate status for Andaman & Nicobar cricket body

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has set its Annual General Meeting for September 18 at its Mumbai office, according to a notice from secretary Devajit Saikia. Key business includes selecting India's delegate to the International Cricket Council and debating a motion to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a proposal previously discussed by the BCCI Apex Council. Associate membership would not confer voting privileges but would integrate the Union Territory into the domestic cricket schedule, which currently features 38 teams. The AGM will also fill two General Body seats on the Indian Premier League Governing Council, welcome a representative from the Indian Cricketers' Association, and ratify a newly advertised five-member junior selection committee.
