BDx launches construction of 640 MW AI data centre in West Java

BDx Data Centers, a Singapore operator, commenced construction of its CGK4 AI data centre campus in West Java, Indonesia, on Tuesday. The development will provide 640 MW of capacity across six buildings, with the initial 120-MW facility expected to be operational by early 2027 and equipped with direct-to-chip liquid cooling for high-density AI workloads. The site, located about five kilometres from the Jatiluhur Dam, has secured 845 MVA of grid power from state utility PLN and is pursuing a hydroelectric supply agreement with Perum Jasa Tirta II to reduce emissions.

BDx obtained a US$320 million loan in 2026 to support its Indonesian expansion, and the campus is certified under Nvidia’s DGX-Ready Colocation programme. The project aims to enable local firms, government agencies and developers to run advanced AI applications domestically, complementing Indonesia’s push for greater data-centre investment.
