Belgian police locate child’s body near Onhaye as father remains missing
A child's remains, likely those of a five-year-old who vanished with his father, were found near Onhaye, Belgium, while the father is still at large.
On Aug 24, federal investigators in Belgium announced the recovery of a child's body close to the town of Onhaye, based on a fresh witness statement. The remains are thought to be those of five-year-old Tymeo Brigou, who disappeared with his father Bryan Brigou on June 27 after the pair were last seen in the same locality. Police found Bryan’s abandoned car and noted that he was under an electronic monitoring bracelet due to a prior violent-offense sentence.
Despite a large deployment of resources, officials have yet to locate the father, and the circumstances surrounding the child's death have not been determined. Prosecutors emphasized that no hypothesis is being dismissed and all investigative avenues are being explored. The case remains open as authorities continue their search.
