Belgian royal couple leads 110-person delegation on inaugural Central Asian state visit
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will travel to Kazakhstan with a large Belgian delegation, marking the first state visit to Central Asia.
The Belgian monarchs are accompanied by ministers Jean-Luc Crucke, Cieltje Van Achter, Boris Dilliès and Adrien Dolimont, as well as about twenty CEOs and eleven university representatives. The 110-person group aims to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties with Kazakhstan. Philippe previously visited the country three times as heir apparent, including trips to Baïkonour for space missions and an economic mission in 2010.
Why it matters
