Belgium to Host High-Level Ministerial Talks with Turkey on security and migration

Belgium will hold a high-level meeting at Egmont Palace with seven Belgian and Turkish ministers to discuss security, justice and migration issues.

Next Tuesday, the Egmont Palace in Brussels will host a high-level ministerial dialogue between seven Belgian and seven Turkish ministers covering foreign affairs, justice, security and migration. This is the first meeting with this particular lineup since 2016, reflecting a renewed political and security dialogue between the two NATO allies. The talks will focus on combating terrorism and organized crime, enhancing police and judicial cooperation, addressing migration challenges, and discussing consular issues and broader EU-Turkey relations.

The summit follows a Belgian economic delegation’s visit to Turkey earlier this year, seeking to strengthen joint efforts on shared challenges. Certain segments, such as the arrival ceremony and group photographs, will be accessible to media crews.
