Belmond launches three-day Paris-to-Amalfi luxury train journey
Belmond’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express now offers a three-day itinerary from Paris to the Amalfi Coast, including an overnight stay at the Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello.
Belmond has added a three-day luxury rail experience that departs Paris, winds along the French and Italian Rivieras and visits Lyon, Cannes, Florence, Rome and Pompeii before concluding on the Amalfi Coast. The excursion includes two evenings at the Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello, a restored 11th-century palace offering a botanical cocktail bar, a restaurant with multiple tasting menus, daily mini-cruises and a celebrated infinity pool.
Guests travel in meticulously restored 1920s Art Deco carriages, with accommodation choices from historic twin cabins to grand suites, each equipped with private bathrooms. Evening dining calls for formal attire such as ball gowns and tuxedos, while daytime wear may be smart-casual. The itinerary also provides optional activities like a cooking class, a painting lesson or a coastal boat tour, and a bar car with live piano music serves as a social hub throughout the trip.
Why it matters
The offering expands high-end rail tourism, linking iconic European cities with a luxury stay on the Amalfi Coast.
