Bengaluru woman and child rescued after alleged kidnapping, assault and forced prostitution threats
A domestic worker in Bengaluru claimed she and her young son were abducted, beaten and threatened with a compromising video after failing to repay loans.
Bengaluru domestic worker Fathima borrowed money from Nazath Begum and Reshma Banu, agreeing to weekly and monthly repayments. After missing payments, she said Reshma repeatedly demanded interest and threatened her through her mother, prompting Fathima to block her contacts. On August 27, Nazath invited Fathima to a house in Metro Layout, where she and her son were locked in by Reshma, Suhail and two others.
The accused allegedly demanded Rs 11 lakh, struck her with a knife, and forced her to strip while recording a video, threatening to circulate it if the debt was not cleared. They kept the pair confined overnight, later taking them to a lawyer to sign documents before returning them to a house near Kumbalagodu. Fathima managed to contact her family, leading Chandra Layout police to rescue her and arrest Nazath, Reshma and Suhail, with their mobile devices sent to a forensic lab.
