Bengaluru woman and mother arrested for killing bedridden husband
Police in Bengaluru detained a wife, her mother and a third man after a 40-year-old paralysed husband was found dead from suffocation and genital injuries.
In Bengaluru, Karnataka, police arrested Shahina Banu, her mother Haseena Banu, and Naheemuddin Qureshi for the killing of Shahina's husband, a 40-year-old man who had been paralysed and confined to bed for two years. The trio allegedly plotted the murder after the wife complained about the difficulty of caring for him, with Qureshi allegedly urging her to act. The victim was suffocated and assaulted in his sleep, sustaining injuries to his genital area, according to the post-mortem report.
The suspects initially told relatives the death was due to a heart attack, but the brother's suspicion led to a police investigation. Avalahalli Police registered a case and, after forensic findings, detained all three suspects on September 9.
