Benson Polytechnic High School teen charged with domestic terrorism after chemical spill
A 15-year-old student at Benson Polytechnic High School faces 19 felony counts, including first-degree domestic terrorism, after releasing toxic chemicals on campus.
Portland Police Bureau officials said the teenager brought several toxic substances to the north-east Portland high school in September, mixed them and inhaled the fumes in the cafeteria. The incident forced the school to be cleared and the student was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he received lifesaving treatment. He now faces charges of domestic terrorism and attempted murder.
