BFI London Film Festival unveils star-studded October program with new premieres

The BFI London Film Festival’s October edition, scheduled for Oct. 7-18, has announced a packed roster of new screenings. Robert Pattinson’s “Primetime,” fresh from Venice, will open the U.K. slate, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall,” an intimate solo-piano performance, will debut in London. Luca Guadagnino’s “Artificial,” starring Andrew Garfield, receives a gala premiere, while the film dramatizes the tumultuous days surrounding Sam Altman’s removal and reinstatement as OpenAI CEO.

Chris Rock directs “Misty Green,” a comedy about a fading actress, and Jonathan Glazer’s documentary “Joy of Joys” juxtaposes Abbey Road sessions with recordings from children in conflict zones. The “Journey” strand also includes the climbing documentary “Everest: The Other Side,” and the “Cult” strand presents the Thai horror “Inherit” starring Davika Hoorne. Screen Talks will feature conversations with Javier Bardem and Robert Eggers, complemented by other notable screenings such as Brad Bird’s “Ray Gunn” and Travis Knight’s “Wildwood.”
