BHEL and Titagarh Rail Launch 35-Year Joint Venture for Vande Bharat Sleeper Maintenance

Bharat Heavy Electricals and Titagarh Rail Systems have agreed to create a 50-50 joint venture to maintain Vande Bharat Sleeper trainsets for 35 years.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) and Titagarh Rail Systems Limited signed a joint-venture agreement to form a company dedicated to the full-service maintenance of Vande Bharat Sleeper trainsets for a period of 35 years. Each partner will own 50 percent of the venture, which will be incorporated as a private limited entity with an initial paid-up capital of ₹50 lakh and its registered office in Delhi. The joint venture will draw on the combined technical capabilities of BHEL and Titagarh to keep the trains operational, safe and reliable over their lifespan.

Governance will be shared equally, with each firm nominating two directors to the board. The arrangement is classified as a domestic transaction and does not constitute a related-party deal.
