Biden and Harris-backed Dan Koh Wins Massachusetts Democratic Primary for House Seat

In a decisive Democratic primary, Dan Koh emerged as the leading candidate among six hopefuls to replace Rep. Seth Moulton in Massachusetts' 6th Congressional District. Koh's campaign was bolstered by endorsements from former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris, reflecting his prior roles as chief of staff to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and deputy assistant to the president overseeing intergovernmental affairs.

Although he narrowly missed a House seat in the 3rd District in 2018, Koh now campaigns on progressive goals, including the abolition of ICE and the implementation of universal health care. The district, which covers the northeastern part of the state, is considered a safe Democratic seat. Moulton, a Marine veteran, left the House after an unsuccessful Senate bid against incumbent Sen. Ed Markey. Koh's next contest will be against Republican military veteran Micah Jones, who secured his party's nomination without opposition.
