Big Bear bald eagle Jackie remains in critical condition at Ventura County clinic

Jackie, a bald eagle known in the Big Bear area, is listed as critically ill and unstable at the Ojai Raptor Center in Ventura County after a confrontation with two other eagles. She was admitted three weeks ago following the encounter and subsequent health decline. Recent blood work showed her packed cell volume at 6% on Saturday, rising modestly to 9% on Sunday, but still at a dangerously low level.
