Billionaire Thomas Kaplan predicts gold could surge tenfold, calling it inevitable
Thomas Kaplan, chairman of Electrum, told Kitco News that a tenfold rise in gold prices is inevitable, suggesting $50,000 per ounce is plausible.
Thomas Kaplan, the Electrum chairman and billionaire investor, asserted that gold is poised for a tenfold increase, targeting prices up to $50,000 per ounce. Speaking to Kitco News, he described this surge as inevitable rather than speculative and compared the present pullback to a short-term correction reminiscent of the 1987 market crash. Kaplan, who shifted his family’s capital to gold and silver following the 2007 sale of Leor Energy, oversees Electrum, NOVAGOLD and Sunshine Silver Mining and Refining.
He noted that while the timing of the rise is uncertain, the long-term outlook for both gold and silver remains strongly positive. Other market commentators, including Robert Kiyosaki and Jim Rogers, also maintain bullish views despite recent price corrections. Kaplan’s perspective frames the dip as a buying opportunity within an enduring upward trend.
Why it matters
Kaplan’s forecast could influence investor sentiment and market expectations for gold and silver.
