BioShanghai Week 2026 launches global AI-driven biopharma partnership between Shanghai and London

On September 17, BioShanghai Week 2026 began at Zhangjiang Science Hall, featuring the theme "AI for Biopharma, Health for All." The ceremony marked the start of a Shanghai-London life-sciences partnership, attended by representatives from Zhangjiang Group, Shanghai Minhang Biomedical Industry Development, Shanghai Jiading Industrial Zone Development, London & Partners, Imperial College London and Oxford University Innovation.

A financing ecosystem partnership was also unveiled, uniting investors such as Shanghai Industrial Investment, Advantech Capital, one outlet Group, Jefferies Financial Group and others to align capital with biotech firms. The week runs through September 20 and includes five thematic tracks, a matchmaking exhibition and a Bio-Tour of industry sites, aiming to create an open platform for international collaboration. Concurrently, promotion conferences for Jiading and Minhang districts were held to boost Shanghai's high-end medical device clusters. Organisers hope the event will reinforce Shanghai's goal of becoming a leading hub for innovative drugs and medical devices.
