BJP appoints new state in-charges, including Smriti Irani and Satish Poonia

The Bharatiya Janata Party, led by national president Nitin Nabin, released a comprehensive list of new state in-charges and co-in-charges across India. Smriti Irani, a former Union minister, has been given responsibility for both Haryana and Chhattisgarh, and Satish Poonia has been appointed to manage Jammu and Kashmir. Harish Dwivedi will head the party’s operations in Bihar, while Sanjay Bhatia will supervise Rajasthan.

The party also designated leaders for Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala, among other regions. This reorganisation builds on an August reshuffle that placed officials in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat. The changes are intended to strengthen the BJP’s regional structures ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
