BJP chief Nitin Nabin convenes inaugural meeting with new national team ahead of elections

BJP national president Nitin Nabin gathered the freshly appointed 65-member national team at the party headquarters to plan for upcoming state elections and grassroots outreach.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin chaired his first meeting with the party's newly formed 65-member national team at the headquarters in New Delhi, concentrating on preparations for forthcoming assembly polls and grassroots engagement. The agenda covered voter outreach, coordination with state leaders and communication of government initiatives. Further meetings are slated for the same day, featuring state presidents, in-charges and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states.

The reshuffled team, announced days earlier, introduces 51 fresh faces, including former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and ex-RSS functionary Ram Madhav as national vice presidents, while Smriti Irani joins as one of eight national general secretaries. Veteran leaders such as B L Santhosh, Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, and Piyush Goyal retain key roles, and the lineup adds 12 women and six minority representatives.

Why it matters

The meeting sets the BJP's election strategy and signals how the party will mobilize support ahead of crucial state polls.
